Blowing the top off our list of June reviews is this steamy sexy collection of paintings and photographs by tantalising artist Marilyn Minter.

Vibrant colours whipped out in the delicious world of fashion and glamour, Minter's art oozes with attraction and taste. A pioneer in the world of magnetism and make-up, her work blends the feint texture of beauty and style in the art world. In a way that leaves our mouths watering for more.

Marilyn Minter has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 2005, the Center for Contemporary Art, Cincinnati, Les Rencontres d’Arles festival in 2007, France, OH in 2009, La Conservera, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo, Ceutí/Murcia, Spain in 2009, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland, OH in 2010 and the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg, Germany in 2011. Her video Green Pink Caviar was exhibited in the lobby of the MoMA for over a year, and was also shown on digital billboards on Sunset Boulevard in LA. She has been included in numerous group exhibitions. In 2006, Marilyn Minter was included in the Whitney Biennial, and in a collaboration with Creative Time she installed billboards all over Chelsea in New York city. In 2009, she had solo exhibits at Regen Projects, Los Angeles and Salon 94, New York. In 2011 Minter had a solo exhibition at Team Gallery, New York. She was featured in Commercial Break, at the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture and POST, for the 2011 Venice Biennale. Her work is currently featured in “ Riotous Baroque”, a group exhibition at the Kunsthaus Zurich which will travel to the Guggenheim Bilbao in June 2013.

CPUT’s Next Trend Fashion Show

Can you say "Fresh", "Funky" and "Hip"? 

Following a recent fashion show done by CPUT's young, talented fashion design students, they definitely defined what those words really mean.  

The fashion and styles that were displayed by these students were breathtaking and flawless. 

A trend which us, as young individuals will go absolutely insane for. This fashion brings a splash of personality owned by most people, which genuinely attracts any type of person.

Looking at what was presented by these young individuals gives a clear indication and taste of what to expect in the future of fashion in Cape Town! I personally cannot wait to walk into one of our major leading stores and find any of these designs on display!

Yago Hortal - Colours in Motion

Artist Yago Hortal is a tremendously talented painter whose work is an inspiration to the crew here at Nunzio Cultura.
Combining phenomenal colours and abstract styles, Yago Hortal sets in motion the art-to-eyes feeling that captivates us all!

Hortal combines energetic strokes and abstract colours to create a wonderfully visual masterpiece that is eye-catching and enthralling.

Born in Barcelona 1983, Yago Hortal now works and applies his surreal abstract art in Berlin. 

He has risen to fame as a young imaginative artist, and become an inspiration world-wide.

PickledCherry - A Wedding Tale

Take a smooth journey through the lens of PickledCherry. The brainchild of photographer Lee-Anne Nieuwstadt from Cape Town, South Africa.

Lee-Anne's work varies from professional photo shoots, ranging from portraits (individual/ couple/ family/ groups) to graduations, from newborn babies/ toddlers & children to engagements and weddings. As well as a vast variety of other functions including but not limited to Kitchen Teas, Birthday functions & Bachelorette parties etc.

It's on those special days though that we are concentrating on. PickledCherry combines that unique moment with exquisite timing and captures all the beauty fused by a couple's relationship.  For a self-taught photographer Lee-Anne has a growing passion for photography and this shines through in the dedication and hard work she has put in since her high-school days.
